And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus,
giving thanks to God the Father through him.
Sadly we often become consumed with worldly things, and we forget why we are here. Forgetting that everything we do is meant to glorify God, we can begin to lose sight of why we’re here, becoming ungrateful, our hearts growing hard and cold toward God. Soon we are looking in vain to our own thoughts, desires, and plans to satisfy a longing in our soul that we just can’t fill.
Because we were made to worship God, our sole purpose and path to fulfillment is to live every moment of our lives glorifying Him, showing His love, walking in peace with one another, and doing all things with a heart full of gratitude.
So let’s pray today to our always faithful Lord, asking Him to keep us from forgetting why we are here, or what we’re to be living for. Pray to the Holy Spirit, petitioning Him to fill our hearts with gratitude so we can give Him the worship He deserves, glorifying Him in all things. Help us embrace the “less of me and more of You” mentality and walk in obedience daily, looking to our Savior and Father for grace and strength so that others may learn how to love Him as we do.
