False teachings are alive in the Church today. The pastor’s best defense against false teachers is to build a constructive ministry, built on sound doctrine.

Godliness is what we are called to as the household of God. Godliness is produced when we strive to live and be nourished by the eternal truth of God’s Word.

The central event of all of world history, past, present, and future is the resurrection of Jesus Christ. The heart of the gospel is the good news that Jesus IS Risen!

Jesus is King. Some receive him and some reject him. How we respond determines our standing with the coming King.

Upholding the Truth within the culture, starts with preserving the truth in the Household of God, so that you will not fall away.

Guarding the gospel means upholding the truth, that Jesus is the Resurrected and Reigning Christ, through our words and conduct.

Like elders, the office of deacon is part of God’s design for guarding the gospel in his household. Qualified men who lead through service will guard the gospel both at home and in the Church Jesus builds.

Guarding the gospel means doing things God’s way according to God’s Word. This includes ordering and leading the Church as God designs.

When we fight the good fight, prayer is of first importance. We are fighting for the benefit of all people, in the power of Christ who alone saves. This is why the Church has been birthed and built by Christ, and we must take care how we fight.

As the Church, pastors, leaders and members must hold firm to the gospel like our lives, and the lives of others depend on it. We must fight against both false gospels from within the Church and false messages from the world. Our battle is not against flesh and blood, but on behalf of humanity that is on their way to hell. Faithful proclamation of the gospel is our purpose. We wage war against the enemy that seeks to destroy people that bear the image of God and were created for his glory.

The Gospel radically changed Paul’s life. He went from a persecutor of the church to one of it’s greatest apologists. This was the power of the gospel at work, and the same grace of God is changing lives and adding to His household today.

The Gospel is the foundation of the Church. That Jesus is savior and LORD is not only our confession, but it is the reason that we even have our being. It has been entrusted to the Church and is to be proclaimed and defended.
