As we seek to follow the ways and words of Christ, God has designed us and gifted us to follow and serve him together. The corporate course of discipleship requires all of us following together. Join us as we explore the importance of Joining God’s Mission in Christ’s Body.

The call to Christ can seem overwhelming when we realize the magnitude of the responsibility to make disciples. We are just as likely to run ahead of Him as we are to run away. Yet Jesus calls us to a life of rest, free from the stress of our efforts. Join us as we examine the Course of Discipleship.

The call to discipleship is not only for every individual believer, but for the corporate household of God. In week 2 of our current series we look to God’s word to learn how we Join the Mission of God Together as his body, the Church

Jesus wants more for you, and will do more than you can ever hope or imagine. He told the disciples that they would do more than he did. The same is true for us. As we join in discipleship, the power of God is released in our lives to make us more and to bring Him more glory.

This week, we recap the Resurrection, followed by the Great Commission. We will learn how the first command of the risen King is to make disciples of all nations.

This week, we learn how Jesus admits He is King and is handed over to Pilate (the Roman judgement). Pilate offers to release a prisoner and the crowds cry for Jesus to be crucified.

This week, we learn how King Jesus willingly submitted to the Father’s will. Jesus prayed to the Father in the Garden of Gethsemane while the disciples “watch” and sleep. Three times Jesus prayed for His Father’s will to be done.

How do we share Christ with other people if we are uncomfortable to bring up the subject? Is it really important for us to go out of our way to tell people about Jesus? Our Associate Pastor, Evan Nutter, shares what the Bible says about the subject.

The Passover is powerful. This week we learn how King Jesus fulfills the Passover in the New Covenant Lord’s Supper. Jesus tells the disciples where to prepare to eat the Passover. He also institutes the Lord’s Supper.

King Jesus submits to trial by men, in order to reign supreme. He prophesied His death by crucifixion. It was all according to God’s plan. Jesus knew it was all going to happen before it did. By His actions, we are saved!

The King’s Disciples follow Him to the very end! We must be prepared and live our lives with the end in view, yet patiently expecting Jesus’ return as long as He tarries, knowing His return will come unexpectedly.

Why we believe, what we believe. Welcome to a weekly small group study through scripture and the Baptist Faith & Message led by Pastor Cory. The Baptist Faith & Message is an accurate representation of the beliefs of our church. It is a break down of why we believe that the Bible is the perfect Word of God, and what it means to us and Christians in general. If you have wondered about our church, or Baptist beliefs, this weekly course is for you. The weekly small group lesson is taught live each Sunday afternoon at 4pm at FBC Bettendorf.
