God rekindles his relationship with Israel by taking them back to the beginning. In his love, He betroths himself to them and establishes a new and better covenant.
Hosea reveals the heart of God that desires to redeem and restore his people. It’s the love story of all love stories: divine in nature, eternal in scope!
God’s relationship with His people is consistently described in Scripture in marriage language. God is the groom and his people are his bride. As such, God demands our allegiance and desires our affections as He lavishes His love on us.
God has commanded His people to pray. We are to pray both individually and together in such a way that He alone gets all the glory!
When we pray rightly, we declare our dependence on God and our desire for His will to be done. Prayer is a continual practice of personal and corporate worship.
When we come to God in prayer, he cares about even the smallest details of our life. However, focusing in on the details, without considering the big picture, leads to immature and ineffective prayer. When we have the proper heart posture, our prayers will be focused on aligning our desires tot he will of God.
How we pray reveals the desires of our hearts. The posture of prayer is not about our physical position, but rather our heart condition. The proper posture of prayer is a heart that desires the glory of God, not self.
Prayer is more important that any other discipline the church can live by. Glorifying Christ in worship, discipleship, and mission, must first be a matter of prayer for us. Without prayer, we are powerless in our own strength. Corporate prayer is a must, so we are calling our church to pray to the LORD according to His will.
The birth of Christ was a long awaited promise kept. His birth changed the world and for many, eternity. What all did we receive when God the Son came to earth?
